eCoupons

If you are unable to print coupons online then try eCoupons.  Right now there are a limited amount of stores using eCoupon services but the popularity may grow because it saves paper which is good for our environment and the services are easy to use.  I've listed some  pros and cons at the bottom of this post but anyway you can save on your shopping is a plus.

Cellfire - click and save coupons on your favorite store's savings card.  Choose from these stores and more - Kroger, Fry's, Safeway, Giant Eagle, Dillon's, Vons, Payless, etc.

Meijer Mperks - you don't need a store savings card to take advantage of Mperks savings.  Both manufacturer coupons and Meijer in-store coupons are offered on Mperks.  When checking out at Meijer there will be a "button" at the bottom of the checkout screen that you will click and then enter your cell phone number.  Coupon discounts will be applied to your purchase instantly.

Upromise eCoupons - Unlike other eCoupon services, the savings you earn is deposited into your Upromise College savings account instead of coming off your total receipt at checkout.  You can apply these eCoupons to a variety of store savings cards like CVS, Kroger, Food Lion, Rite Aid, and Meijer (in some areas this varies whether you can apply eCoupons to the Meijer1Card).

Shortcuts.com - right now only Giant Eagle and the Kroger family of stores are available with this service.

My Pros and Cons about eCoupons

Pros -
  • Saves paper, no more clipping or printing coupons, and you don't have to sort through your stack of coupons.
  • You can print the list of coupons you have electronically "clipped" and use it as your shopping list.
  • Easy to use and the coupons load onto your savings card quickly.
Cons -
  • Your eCoupons will not double or triple and are redeemed at face value.
  • You cannot control which eCoupon will be redeemed first.  You may have two coupons for the same product, one for $1.50 off from Shortcuts.com and the other for $1 off from Cellfire, but there is no control as to which coupon will be applied.  However, if you buy two of the same item then both the eCoupons should be applied.
  • If you have an eCoupon and a paper coupon for the same item, it will accept your eCoupon first.  I don't like this when I have a paper coupon valued higher than my eCoupon.
  • Read the eCoupon carefully, you must buy exactly the item specified or it won't be applied to your purchase.
  • You can only load an eCoupon once and it will stay on your savings card until you use it or expires.
